The Willowdale Short Story Collection is a great introduction to the town of Willowdale and all the colorful characters that make up said town. We've got the newgirl, Tonya, originally from New York City. She's moved a thousand miles from home to start over and open a beauty shop. But soon half town is plotting against her shop while the other half is secretly having her cut their hair. Her initial run in with Chief Tommy was not what one would call Southern Hospitality at its finest but soon the two are inseparable. But when it comes time to stick up for his girl or side with the town, which will he choose?Long time residents Brad Larsen and Jeanne Clark have a long history...especially for two people who've hardly ever spoken to each other. But let's just say it all started in Kindergarten with a kiss. Speed ahead a few years and they're going head-to-head to become the new chef at The Hideaway. It's so much fun to watch these two try to best each other while helping each other at the same time.
I won't say too much about the third story because some things should be a surprise, but overall this is sure to be a fabulous series. I loved all the characters, the town, and can't wait to read the novels that follow these introductions. If you like brilliant writing that will make you smile and your heart pound and your eyes to tear up, this is one author you don't want to miss.

A Fine How-De-Do
Tonya Garcia needs to make a change, desperately. After living on the same street in New York all of her life she's going to start over. Now that her Nonna is gone it's not the same anyways. After using a unique system to choose a new location to move to, she leaves. The chief of police welcomes her to the tiny town of Willowdale, North Carolina before she's barely entered it. Wasn't that nice? Not. This story is told from Tonya's point of view only and is told with much humor.
A Little Hanky Panky
Jeanne Clark is in the market for a new chef job after tiring of the seniors complaints where she worked serving their meals. When she applies at Willowdale's one and only hotspot, The Hideaway, she finds there is competition for the job. Brad Larsen. The handsome hunk she hasn't spoken to since grade school and now they have to work together while competing for the same job. Jeanne and Brad's story continues in the full novel; Man of the Month.
A Perfect Setup
What is Faye Jenkins, owner of the Be Wright Inn, up to? Whatever it is she's including Tonya Garcia, Jeanne Clark and Kate Riley into her plans. All three girls are determined to do without men for a while. But who says they can't date a hunk and not mention it? An extremely humorous short story of a very determined mama.
**Mild language
This story is fun for a summer read. I've read all of Lisa Scott's shirt stories. Trust me this one wont disappoint
I loved the stories, they were short, interesting, funny and highly entertaining. Good read for the evening, not too long
LOVED these short stories! They add a lot of depth to the supporting characters of No Foolin and Man of the Month. A must read if you're a fan of the author's Flirts! So good!

These were exactly what I had time for. A little romance...a little country...and a LOT of laughter in each story.
Love the stories! New to reading Lisa Scott but finding her a delightful story teller. These are quick fast reads. Characters in two of the ladies in these stories have their own stories in full length stories-Man of the Month and No Foolin'. If you're looking for a quick funny read choose this!
